Japan by Rail

From Tokyo’s neon energy to Kyoto’s lantern-lit lanes, discover Japan through food, culture and unforgettable local experiences.

Beyond Japan's major sights.

This won’t be a rushed “see every temple” tour. Japan by Rail is designed for travellers who want more than checklist sightseeing.

Rather than simply moving from place to place, the rail journeys give this tour its rhythm. They link Tokyo’s layered neighbourhoods with Hakone’s mountain scenery, Kanazawa’s artisan traditions, Kyoto’s cultural heart and Osaka’s vibrant food scene.

Expect lantern-lit streets, hidden food halls, mountain scenery, craft traditions, local flavours and the moments that make Japan unforgettable.

This journey is currently in final development. We’ll be on the ground in Japan this October to finalise the details and add the special touches that will shape our October 2027 departure.

Be the first to receive itinerary updates, launch details and early access information for the October 2027 departure.
